Learn to Meditate in Half a Day
Burnley Kadampa Buddhist Centre, Burnley
Saturday 28 Sept, 10am – 1pm
Create a peaceful mind with simple, effective meditations for greater peace, focus and balance in life. Ideal if you are new to meditation or if you wish to develop your meditation practice.
Meditation is becoming increasingly recognized as an effective means to reduce stress and improve our quality of life, however it also has much deeper and far-reaching benefits that have been understood by Buddhist practitioners for thousands of years. During this morning course, you will be guided by an experienced practitioner through several meditations that can be reproduced at home, learn how to improve your mindfulness and concentration; as well as how to set up a regular meditation practice. There will also be an opportunity to ask questions and receive guidance on how to improve your meditation practice.
You may also be interested in the afternoon course, Establishing a Daily Practice. There is a discounted price for people attending both events. The cost of the morning workshop is £12.50 (GP Centre Card £5) or combine it with the afternoon half day course, Establishing a Daily Practice, for £18.
Refreshments are available in our World Peace Cafe during the workshop. Why not also stay for homemade soup afterwards?
This course will be taught by Jim Sheridan, a student of the New Kadampa Buddhism Foundation Course
