Living in the Present Moment
Buddha Land Kadampa Buddhist Centre, Keighley
Saturday 25 April, 10am – 1pm
Find beauty and fullness in each moment, learn to let go of the shadows of the past and the worries of the future. In this workshop, learn to use mindfulness to stay focused on our present experience and actions and to create causes for future happiness.
We often put our joy and happiness on hold, waiting for events to come right, ‘when this happens, then I will be happy.’ Or we dwell in the past and times gone by. Rarely, it seems are we actually fully aware of the present moment. But the past does not exist any more, and the future is yet to come. According to Buddha’s teachings on impermanence, the present moment is all there is. This profound insight changes our customary way of looking at our lives.
If we want to appreciate, and enjoy our surroundings and situation, if we want to be able to understand, and help, and learn from the people we are with, then we must first learn how, for a little while, to let go of the past and the future, and find some space in the present moment.
Workshops are a perfect way to both relax and develop internally. They are ideal for those who are new to meditation and those who would like to improve. Anyone can attend this meditation event; it is suitable for complete beginners and those with experience. Everyone is welcome.
The cost of the workshop is £12.50 (GP Centre Card £5).
Refreshments are available in our World Peace Cafe during the workshop. Why not also stay for lunch afterwards?
