Training in Concentration
Half Day Course
Burnley Kadampa Buddhist Centre
Saturday 18 April, 10am – 1pm
Learn to develop deep and clear concentration with meditations that create peace of mind. Establish a regular practice of meditation that brings lasting results. There will be the option of a follow up residential retreat to help develop your concentration.
We are living in an age of distraction, where everyone is accustomed to constant stimulation and mental busyness, and it is very rare to enjoy even a moment of inner stillness.
In this course, we will learn how to access profound inner stillness through engaging in a systematic training that increases our concentration. Pure concentration causes our mind to attain a tranquil state, free from distractions, able to stay focused with power and clarity. These techniques can create a strong foundation for a successful daily meditation practice and give us confidence to carry this tranquillity and focus into our daily life.
The cost of the half day course is £12.50 (GP Centre Card £5). Refreshments are available in our World Peace Cafe during the course.
This course will be taught by Gen Kelsang Päljin the Resident Teacher of Burnley Kadampa Buddhist Centre and of Buddha Land Buddhist Centre, Keighley. He is a Buddhist monk with over 20 years’ experience of practising and teaching Kadampa Buddhism.
