Our festivals are a spiritual holiday like no other. They give us an opportunity to step away from the busyness of daily life and to make time for our inner spiritual development for a concentrated period of time. In this way we accelerate our meditation practice, deepening our understanding and experience in a relatively short period of time. We also have the opportunity to meet and be part of a diverse and international community from all walks of life. People of every age and background are welcome to attend the Festivals and no prior experience is necessary.
There is nothing more precious than the words of our Spiritual Guide. This festival begins with the empowerment of Dorje Shugden as a powerful protection and blessing, so that we can understand the deep meanings of all the teachings of Sutra and Tantra that we have received from our Founder, and so we can care for them, ensuring they remain vibrant, alive and functioning for many generations to come. With a life of dedication, Gen-la Dekyong pays particularly close attention to our Guru’s words.
Gen-la will share special advice that she has personally directly received from Venerable Geshe-la on how for our mind and the meaning of the teachings to become one, requires our Guru’s blessings. She will also share how we can deepen our understanding of our Guru’s speech continually, and how through this, we ourselves can come to hold his ultimate correct views and intentions and attain the enlightened state of our Guru.
Our Fall Festival will be taking place at the International Kadampa Retreat Center Grand Canyon in Arrizona. Accommodation is available on site or nearby, you can also attend online.

International Kadampa Retreat Centre Grand Canyon is an incredible venue situated adjacent to Old Route 66 in Northern Arizona at 7,000 feet above sea level. The area is abundant in sightseeing, hikes, historic landmarks, and national parks — only an hour’s drive to the Grand Canyon, 45 minutes to Sedona, and 40 minutes to Mount Humphreys, the tallest point in the state at 12,633 feet.
This blessed space houses the fifth Kadampa Temple dedicated to World Peace and serves as North America’s official international retreat center. Since its opening by Gen-la Kelsang Dekyong in fall 2019, the Temple has hosted countless retreats, courses, and Festivals, giving the are a special tranquil energy. The center’s pristine location, embraced by ancient forests and soaring mountains, creates an atmosphere of exceptional beauty and tranquility—the perfect environment for a Kadampa Festival.
