Weekly Meditation Classes

Solve daily problems, develop peace of mind, improve your health and find meaning & purpose in life. Classes include guided meditations and explanation of how to meditate and practise in daily life. They are run on a drop-in basis so you can join at any stage.

Classes are suitable for complete beginners, those with some experience of meditation and more advanced meditators wishing to go deeper with their practice.

Inner Strength, Overcoming Anger

This series of classes will explore why happiness and peaceful states of mind are short-lived, whilst negative states of mind, such as irritation and upset seem to appear with remarkable ease.
We will get to the root of our anger problem and look at methods to solve this through the practice of patience.

Learn the basics of Buddhist meditation and experience inner peace. Discover what meditation is, how to meditate successfully, and how to start a daily practice that brings lasting results.

In order to prepare our mind properly for meditation, we need to receive the powerful blessings from the Buddhas. In this weekly class Gen Kelsang Päljin will introduce the essential daily prayers that Kadampa Buddhists have been engaging in for centuries to improve their wisdom and compassion.


Modern Buddhism

Modern Buddhism is a special practical presentation of Buddha’s teaching that is perfectly suited to our modern world. Learn how to integrate this ancient wisdom into modern daily life with theses classes based on the book Modern Buddhism.

The teachings of Buddha and learning to meditate are entirely suitable for children and teens to help them let go of their daily worries and concerns and to have a peaceful and relaxed mind and develop a positive outlook.

These short meditation classes held in person at Burnley Centre offer simple guided meditations to help us gain personal experience of inner peace. The meditations help us to relax, let go of our daily concerns, and develop a fresh and positive outlook.
