Healthier, Happier You (from June 15)
Drop-in Meditation Classes
In-person & Livestream
Day & Evening Classes Tuesdays to Saturdays
Though we wish to be happy and free from suffering, we encounter many problems and difficulties and so any experience of happiness that we have is short lived. Buddha taught that permanent health & happiness is possible only by developing internal good qualities.
With our own wisdom we can see that arising from our reliance on external things such as our jobs, our relationships, our possessions , our health, beauty & vitality etc , any experience of health and happiness we have is temporary. And though we may wish for happiness and freedom from suffering for those close to us, they too experience the same problems and difficulties in finding anything more than short lived peace and contentment.
To help us, Buddha taught six practices which we can practise both in and out of meditation motivated by a wish to benefit others as well as ourselves. These are the six perfections of giving, moral discipline, patience, effort, concentration and wisdom.
Each week, we will learn more about these six perfections, what they are, how we can put them into practice and what the beneficial results will be for ourselves and those with whom we share our lives.
Classes cost £6 per session or free with our monthly membership programme.
Our monthly membership programme offers free access to all in-person & livestream weekly classes as well as discounts on courses for only £20 per month – Learn more.
