Everything You Ever Wanted to Know About Buddhism
Half Day Course
@ Burnley KBC
Saturday 19 September, 2pm – 5pm
In-person & Livestream
In this half day course, Gen Kelsang Päljin will explore some of the fundamental questions about Buddhism and introduce the essential teachings and practices of the Buddha.
Whether you are completely new to Buddhism or already have some familiarity with Buddhist teachings, this course offers an opportunity to develop your understanding and discover how Buddhist wisdom can be applied to everyday life.
What exactly is meditation?
Is Buddhism a religion, a philosophy, or a way of life?
What do Buddhists believe?
What did Buddha teach about the mind and our experience of the world?
What do Buddhists mean by reincarnation?
What are the different Buddhist traditions?
Who was Buddha, and what can his teachings offer us today
These questions provide a starting point for exploring the Buddha’s teachings on the nature of our mind, the causes of suffering and how we can develop greater peace, wisdom and compassion.
The course will combine explanation, meditation and practical advice, giving you an opportunity not only to learn about Buddhism but to explore how its teachings can be put into practice in your own life.
No previous knowledge of Buddhism is required, and the course is equally suitable for those who already have some experience and would like to deepen their understanding.
Our workshops are a perfect way to both relax and develop internally. They are ideal for those who are new to meditation and those who would like to improve.
Refreshments are available in our World Peace Café during the course.
The cost of the Meditation Half Day Course is £16 (Monthly Members £5, FP Monthly Members £0).
